Stacey Melerine is native of the Shreveport/Bossier area and currently works at Travelers Insurance as an attorney.  She received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2008 and her law degree from Southern University in 2011. Prior to law school, she worked as an abstractor for a commercial developer.

 

Melerine was named one of the Greater Shreveport Chamber’s Young Professional Initiative 40 Under Forty in 2013.  Melerine currently serves as Secretary for Junior League of Shreveport Bossier and is a former member of the board of directors of Catholic Charities of North Louisiana and Girls on the Run of Shreveport.  She was recognized as the Junior League’s Volunteer of the Year for her work as the Red Apron Pantry’s Chairman during Covid. The food pantry was one of the few to not close their doors for even a day during the pandemic and, in fact, expanded the number of individuals served. Melerine is also a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.

 

Melerine is married to Michael Melerine.  They live in Shreveport with their son and two daughters.
